COVID-19 Message

With the impact of COVID-19, the University of Utah, and institutions around the globe, need to take unprecedented steps to balance our educational mission with the duty to protect the health and well-being of our entire community.

Example of steps we have taken during this time:

• Students are finishing the spring 2020 academic semester through online learning
• Faculty and staff who are able to work remotely have been encouraged to do so
• Campus events are canceled or postponed, including 2020 Commencement
• University of Utah Health teams are dedicated to providing crisis response and quality patient care
• Certain non-urgent medical procedures have been postponed to prepare for an expected surge in patients needing immediate medical attention
• Art and cultural centers and programs have suspended their activities
• Athletics has canceled all sporting events

Times like these demonstrate the need for operational flexibility. Our faculty and staff are being creative and resourceful to respond to our students’ and community’s needs.
