Does my donation to UStarter benefit the project?
Yes, gifts made through UStarter directly support the designated project, whether or not the project reaches its fundraising goal.
How can I support projects in addition to donating?
In addition to making a gift, you can expand your impact by sharing a project with your friends and family. Whether through email, Facebook, or the occasional tweet, helping to promote projects to a larger audience makes a big difference.
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes, the University of Utah is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and gifts are tax deductible to the extent the law allows. Please consult your tax advisor for any tax related questions. Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?
Yes, the University of Utah will send you a gift confirmation via email and a receipt via mail for tax purposes.
How can I fundraise my project through UStarter?
Projects must meet the following: be affiliated with the University of Utah and be non-profit in nature; have a sponsoring U department, program, or center with an account in which fundraising donations can be deposited; consist of project leaders that are willing to create and market promotion materials before, during, and after the campaign.
No individual may personally benefit from the funds raised by UStarter. No for-profit projects will be eligible to receive funding. If you meet these qualifications, fill out the form under “Start a Project” and an annual giving team representative will be in contact with you in 3-5 business days.
How can I make a gift through payroll deduction, a check, or securities?
